New after school club at Kinross Curling helping to introduce more youngsters to the sport

Kinross Curling is going from strength to strength and this week introduced a popular new after school club.

Following an “overwhelming” response to the idea - and to help introduce even more youngsters to the sport - the first session swept into the Green Road-based venue earlier this month.

A great turnout of enthusiastic kids were welcomed onto the ice and quickly learned a number of new skills.

International and experienced coach David Ramsay was on hand to provide his expert knowledge.

Importantly, as highlighted by Kinross Curling Development Officer Kim Dalland, it was all about having fun and the smiles on faces told their own story.

Kinross plan to, initially, run a six-week block of after school club sessions and they take place from 4-5pm on a Monday. The minimum age is nine and the sessions cater for complete beginners upwards.
