A number of new speed limit zones have been put in place across Sunderland and Washington, to help prevent accidents and improve road safety on Wearside.
The new 20mph zones are now live in Silksworth, Harraton, Oxclose and Hall Farm following public consultations with residents of the affected areas.
These are the latest implemented zones from an ongoing programme of citywide works by Sunderland City Council across Wearside.

Sunderland's official street-lighting and signing contractor, Aurora, has now completed the process of installing new speed limit signs in the four zones, with roundel road marking still in the works.
The council is also in the process of developing a new programme of 20mph zones in residential areas across Sunderland, with work beginning in the new financial year on April 1, 2022.
Sunderland City Council's Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for the Environment and Transport, Councillor Claire Rowntree, said: "We have listened to residents and installed these new speed limits in areas where we know speeding is a concern.
"We hope this will improve road safety by reducing the chance of accidents occurring but also the severity of injuries if an accident does occur.
"These schemes will help to further protect our city's most vulnerable road users."
The implementation of 20mph zones across the city comes off the back of an initial trial proposition from the Council in 2017, in which a pilot programme was suggested for 15 areas across Wearside to improve pedestrian and road safety.
