Thousands of people expecting the £150 Disability Cost of Living Payment to land automatically in their bank, building society or credit union account by July 4 can now report it missing online through the dedicated microsite on GOV.UK. The DWP recently announced that over 99 per cent of people eligible for the £150 lump sum had received the money by June 26, 2023.
This means that 6.4 million people received the money within five working days of the payment window opening on June 20. However, while the vast majority of the 6.7 million eligible claimants in receipt of a qualifying disability benefit such as Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Adult Disability Payment or Attendance Allowance, have received the extra financial support, an estimated 300,000 people could still be waiting.
DWP has previously said that a “smaller number of payments will be made after 4 July, where claimants were still awaiting confirmation of their eligibility or entitlement to qualifying disability benefits on 1 April”.
In the latest edition of the Touchbase newsletter, DWP said: “Most people entitled to the £150 Disability Cost of Living Payment will have been paid automatically between 20 June and 4 July.
“Customers can now report a missing payment if they think they should have had one of the following payments but cannot see it in their bank, building society or credit union account.”

DWP added: “We ask that customers do not report the same missing payment more than once. We will reply to their reports as soon as we can.”
Payments are per claimant, not per household, and made automatically into the same account where your qualifying benefit is normally paid. It appears on online accounts and statements with your National Insurance number followed by 'DWP COL'.

To be eligible for the £150 payment, you must be in receipt of one of the benefits listed below:
- Attendance Allowance
- Constant Attendance Allowance
- Disability Living Allowance for adults
- Disability Living Allowance for children
- Personal Independence Payment
- Adult Disability Payment (in Scotland)
- Child Disability Payment (in Scotland)
- Armed Forces Independence Payment
- War Pension Mobility Supplement
Qualifying period
To be eligible for the automatic lump sum, claimants must have received a payment (or later found to be eligible) on April 1, 2023.
For those people awaiting confirmation of their entitlement to disability benefits on April 1, or who are waiting to be assessed for eligibility to receive disability benefits, the payment process will take longer, but the money will still arrive automatically.
