Network Rail statement after evacuation alarms sound at Manchester Victoria

Evacuation alarms sounded at Manchester Victoria station this morning as a 'false alarm'.

The alarms reportedly went off at around 2.30am. People were told to evacuate the building over the speakers.

Alarms that sounded like 'sirens' also sounded in the building. A spokesperson for Network Rail told the Manchester Evening News that this was 'false alarm' inside the station.
