Nets coach got away with deflecting a pass in the most inexcusable officiating blunder

We’ve seen some weird things unfold during NBA games over the years, but it’ll be tough to top what went down during Wednesday night’s game between the Brooklyn Nets and Washington Wizards.

A Nets assistant coach literally forced a turnover from the bench and got away with it.

The incident took place with about 5:45 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Wizards’ Spencer Dinwiddie was swinging a pass to Kyle Kuzma in the corner, but out of nowhere, Nets assistant coach David Vanterpool reached his hand out and deflected the pass away and into the grasp of the Nets’ Kessler Edwards.

Kuzma was irate as the refs didn’t stop play, and he had every reason to be upset.
