Nets’ Ben Simmons Addresses Injury Return, Spotted Getting in On-Court Work

Ben Simmons last took the court when the Brooklyn Nets faced the Milwaukee Bucks on Nov. 6, just the team’s sixth game of the season. The 27-year-old was ultimately declared to be out until January due to nerve irritation in his lower back, but it appears his return may be on the horizon.

Ahead of the Nets’ matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers in Paris on Thursday, Nov. 11, Simmons spoke with the media and gave a brief update, which at least provided a positive outlook.

“It’s good. I’m getting there. Just progressing every day, so I’ll be back soon,” Simmons said, via Brian Lewis of The New York Post.

Simmons’s update is obviously not as great as hearing a definitive date or timeline in which he’ll return to action, but he was seen getting some work in on the court, which is a positive sign.

How quickly Simmons can make it back after the trip to Paris is worth monitoring, as the Nets won’t play again until Monday, Jan. 15. Simmons averaged 6.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 6.7 assists over 31.8 minutes in the six games he’s played this season.
