The Boston Celtics were due for an offensive explosion, and in a home game against the Brooklyn Nets, they got it and then some. Not only did Boston bring the fire on that end of the court, they made history with the most 3-pointers ever sunk in TD Garden on the way to a 139-96 obliteration of the Nets.
In a game that saw six Celtics score in double figures while Boston shot close to 60% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc, the Celtics also outrebounded the Nets 57-32 and moved the ball much better than Brooklyn with 28 assists to the Nets’ 19 in the wire-to-wire victory that saw the Celtics lead by as many as 49 points.
Massive games from Jayson Tatum (31 points, 9 rebounds), Jaylen Brown (26 points), Robert Williams III (16 points, 9 boards), and Derrick White (14 points, 10 rebounds) among the starters helped secure the blowout, with bench players Luke Kornet (12 points) and Malcolm Brogdon (10 points) pulling up the rear.
Let’s take a look at some of the best plays captured in images from the Celtics’ game No. 52 of their 2022-23 campaign.
