Netherlands vs Argentina prediction and odds ahead of FIFA World Cup quarter-final clash

Louis van Gaal will be looking to settle a score when the Netherlands face Argentina at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar in the 2022 FIFA World Cup quarter-final. The Dutch head coach, in his third stint as Oranje boss, was in the dugout when the national side lost to Argentina on penalties in the 2014 World Cup.

The Dutch are 11/4 with Betfred to win this match while Argentina are the favourites at 23/20 and a draw is 9/4. This will be the sixth meeting at the World Cup between the two sides with Holland suffering just one defeat in that time - back in the 1978 World Cup Final.

Netherlands, having failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, find themselves in belief they can mount a serious challenge going into this winter's competition. Van Gaal spoke of his determination to crown the Dutch national team as world champions while Argentina will be looking to maintain their impressive record so far and help get the likes of Lionel Messi to become world champions too.
