Netflix To Premiere Dead Boy Detectives Series On April 25

Dead Boy Detectives 2024 Drama 1 season

The highly anticipated screen adaptation of Dead Boy Detectives is set to premiere on Netflix later this month, following the release of a trailer for the upcoming series on Wednesday. The show is based on the Vertigo comics created by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner, originally published in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Dead Boy Detectives follows the story of best friends Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland, who happen to be ghosts that work together to solve paranormal cases in the mortal realm. Despite being teenagers born in different eras, they only find each other in death, forming a unique bond that transcends time and space.

The series was initially ordered by Max in 2022 but was later picked up by Netflix in early 2023 after Warner Bros. Discovery restructured its DC Universe. Dead Boy Detectives will now join the streaming platform alongside The Sandman, another Vertigo comic adaptation by Neil Gaiman released in 2022.

The trailer for Dead Boy Detectives teases a dark buddy comedy-drama led by George Rexstrew and Jayden Revri in the roles of Edwin and Charles, with a talented supporting cast that includes Kassius Nelson, Yuyu Kitamura, Jenn Lyon, Briana Cuoco, Lukas Gage, David Iacono, and Ruth Connell.

The television adaptation of Dead Boy Detectives was developed by Steve Yockey, who also serves as co-showrunner alongside Beth Schwartz. The series is produced by Greg Berlanti, with Jeremy Carver and Sarah Schechter serving as executive producers.

This latest trailer release on Tuesday follows a teaser that was unveiled last November. Fans can look forward to the premiere of Dead Boy Detectives on Netflix on April 25, promising an intriguing blend of mystery, friendship, and supernatural elements.
