Netflix's You fans beg character to return from the dead in 'disappointing' season

Netflix's hit drama You has left fans pleading with bosses to bring Love Quinn back from the dead amid a "boring and predictable" season four.

In the first instalment, serial killer Joe Goldberg ( Penn Badgley ) has made his way to London in the latest series and even managed to secure a job teaching American literature, but his quiet life doesn't last long.

He quickly finds himself caught up in a real-life murder mystery, desperately trying to prove his innocence while those around him keep dying.

However, not everyone is impressed with the latest instalment and many fans have taken to Twitter to beg for Joe's wife to be brought back.

The only problem is that Love ( Victoria Pedretti ) appeared to have suffered at the hands of her husband in season three as Joe framed her in a fake murder-suicide.

At the end of the last season Love seemingly burned inside her house, but fans are now hoping there's a way she could have survived.

"You season 4 better end with love quinn back from the dead or i quit," one fan threatened.

Another hopeful viewer tweeted: "About to start binging #netflixyou hoping my theory that Love is still alive turns out to be true."

A third fan commented: "YOU season 4 is a disappointment… this season should have been about Love and the baby, and Joe, and not another killer."

"So far, You season 4 has been boring and predictable, which wouldn’t have happened if Love was still in it," agreed another.

Fans might soon get exactly what they asked for as a teaser trailer for the upcoming instalment of season four saw the return of a familiar face.

In the clip, Love could be seen briefly smiling at Joe inside one of his glass boxes and fans have been left wondering what it means.

"Now to wait a month, to see this: PLEASE TELL ME THAT LOVE IS STILL ALIVE," one person tweeted.

"Love survived that fire and that’s a conversation y’all aren’t ready to have," another insisted.

A third fan tweeted: "I am begging that this is not a flashback. I miss her so much and I stg we didn’t see a body so she’s still alive in my head."

However, things may not be as they seem and Love might not actually be back from the dead.

Fans will remember Joe's late girlfriend Guinevere Beck returning as a hallucination in season two and it could be possible that it will be the same for Love.

The second instalment is set to be available from March 9.
