Netflix's Wednesday star Catherine Zeta-Jones defies age in candid selfie

Catherine Zeta-Jones has shown that she is still effortlessly beautiful as she shares a candid selfie on Instagram.

The 52-year-old actress will be starring as Morticia Addams in the upcoming Netflix comedy horror series Wednesday, which is directed by Tim Burton.

While the former Darling Buds of May star looks every bit the gothic priestess in the new spin on The Addams Family, Catherine showed that she is ageless in a pic she posted on social media with her pet dog.

Catherine, who has been married to Michael Douglas since 2000, wore a deep v-necked orange top for the snap in which her brunette hair cascaded around her shoulders, with the actress giving a smouldering pout.

This comes after he first trailer dropped for Wednesday, giving Catherine's fans the chance to see her as Morticia for the first time.

The new eight-part Netflix series has teenager Jenna Ortega playing the main role of Wednesday Addams and it will focus on her years as a high school student at Nevermore Academy.

Here she attempts to master her psychic powers, stop a monstrous killing spree of the town citizens, and solve the supernatural mystery that affected her family 25 years ago.

The trailer begins with Wednesday being expelled from Nancy Reagan High School after using her powers to brutally attack one of the school bullies named Dalton.

"The only person who gets to torture my brother is me," she announces as she drops piranhas into the school swimming pool.

As they arrive at Nevermore Academy, Catherine's Morticia tells her daughter: "Finally you will be among peers who understand you. Maybe you'll even make some friends."
