Streaming giant Netflix has removed one feature that proved unpopular among viewers.
The service has decided to discontinue its shuffle-play button, which was introduced in 2021 as a remedy for those that found it difficult to choose a film or TV show to watch.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Netflix decided to discontinue the feature due to relatively low use.

The streaming giant has an estimated 230 million subscribers throughout the world.
Due to a decrease in its subscriber base recorded in the first half of 2022, Netflix brought in an ad-supported tier in November 2022 in a bid to offset customer and revenue reductions.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Netflix has now focused on its user experience for existing customers, which has led to the shuffle-play button being removed from the app.
Prior viewing and the service's algorithm were the determining factors for what show or movie the button would arrive at.
A spokesperson for the streaming service told the American newspaper that users tend to log in with a movie or show already in mind, adding that other similar features will be explored in the future.
