Netflix, PGA Tour confirm second season for ‘Full Swing’ series

Ian Poulter said it best when he told the producers of the Netflix series Full Swing they “picked a hell of a year to start following the PGA Tour.”

As the battle between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour continues, the cameras are still rolling. Both Netflix and PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan confirmed a second season on Tuesday, less than a month after season one was released.

“A point of emphasis for our organization has been delivering the PGA Tour to fans where they are and making our sport more welcoming through innovation and strategic partnerships,” said Monahan during his press conference ahead of this week’s Players Championship. “Full Swing debuted to Netflix’s 230 million subscribers the week of the Genesis Invitational and has been consistently in the Netflix top 10 worldwide. As a result of such strong performance out of the gate, Netflix announced earlier this morning that they are officially green-lighting season two of Full Swing.”

Schupak: ‘Full Swing’ is good, not great — we just expected more

Chad Mumm and Mark W. Olsen of Vox Media Studios will continue to executive produce Full Swing, as well as Paul Martin, James Gay-Rees and Warren Smith of Box to Box Films.

Season one featured eight episodes and told the stories of major champions like Matt Fitzpatrick as well as viral WM Phoenix Open breakout star Joel Dahmen, and briefly covered the rift between the Tour and LIV through the likes of Poulter, Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson.

With the recent announcement of a radical schedule change and an upcoming Ryder Cup later this fall, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for season two.
