The popular Netflix series, The Witcher, is set to conclude with its upcoming fifth season, as announced by the streaming service. The final season will follow the newly cast Liam Hemsworth in the lead role of Geralt of Rivia, taking over from Henry Cavill. Season four has already commenced production, with the final two seasons scheduled to be filmed back to back.
Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich expressed her excitement for the upcoming seasons, stating that the show will bring Andrzej Sapkowski's book series to an epic and satisfying conclusion. The adaptation will cover the last three books in Sapkowski's series: Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake.
In the upcoming fourth season, viewers can expect to see Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri navigating separate paths after the events of the previous season. The trio will lead their respective groups in a quest to reunite and face new challenges together.
