Netflix Ireland is releasing a new season of Selling Sunset and other must-see shows this month - here's our top picks to binge on

There are some new shows and documentaries to look forward to on Netflix in April as well as some fresh seasons of old favourites.

Selling Sunset is back for a fifth season, comedy drama Russian Doll returns for a second season while the final episodes of crime drama Ozark will be released.

Brand new exciting shows to watch out for include Hard Cell, a debut sitcom for Netflix by comedy star Catherine Tate, as well as a six-part courtroom drama, Anatomy of a Scandal, based around the wife of a politician accused of a shocking sexual crime.

A new documentary on Marilyn Monroe’s final hours, The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe – The Unheard Tapes, is also coming out in April as well as a two-part documentary on paedophile and TV personality Jimmy Savile called Jimmy Savile: British Horror Story.

Here we take a look at what you can expect to binge on over the next month.

Selling Sunset: Season 5 (April 22)

Reality TV fan-favourite Selling Sunset returns to Netflix for a fifth season this month.

This season will pick up right after season four, which saw Christine Quinn and newcomer Emma Hernan feud over a mutual ex boyfriend. Expect even more drama as well as a new cast member, British Nigerian luxury realtor Chelsea Lazkani, and luxurious LA mansions.

Anatomy of a Scandal (April 15)

Anatomy of a Scandal, a limited six-part series, is based on Sarah Vaughan's bestselling novel of the same name. Sienna Miller stars as Sophie, a happily married mother-of-two and the wife of powerful Westminster politician James, played by Rupert Friend, who has been accused of a shocking sexual crime.

It is a psychological thriller and gripping courtroom drama created by Emmy winner David E. Kelley, which aims to infiltrate the personal and political scandal of Britain's elite.

Hard Cell (April 12)

Comedy star Catherine Tate, of The Catherine Tate Show, who brought characters such as rude schoolgirl Lauren Cooper and foul-mouth Nan Joanie Taylor to life, has returned with her her debut sitcom for Netflix, Hard Cell.

Hard Cell, written and starring Tate, will document life of staff and inmates in a fictional women's prison in a "delightfully dry comedy series".

Better Call Saul: Season 6 - Part 1 (April 19)

The first seven episodes of part one of the final season of Better Call Saul arrive this month after a two-year delay.

This season, fans are promised lots of action, as seen in the trailer for the Breaking Bad spin-off show.

Ozark: Season 4 - Part 2 (April 19)

The final episodes of crime drama Ozark arrive this month, much to the delight and sadness of fans of the Netflix show as it draws to a close.

The trailer is said to include major spoilers so beware before you watch it!

Russian Doll: Season 2 (April 20)

Comedy, sci-fi drama series Russian Doll returns for a second season this month, after season one saw Nadia stuck in a time loop and living her 36th birthday over and over again.

The second season promises another existential adventure.

Documentaries

Jimmy Savile: British Horror Story (April 6)

This two-part documentary on paedophile and radio and TV personality Jimmy Savile is being released this month.

The show is expected to include chilling archive footage and a gruesome insight into his crimes as well as his image as a national celebrity and his award of a knighthood.

The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe – The Unheard Tapes (April 27)

The final hours of 1950's bombshell Marilyn Monroe's untimely death, aged 36, are explored in this new documentary which includes previously unheard interviews with the actresses' inner circle.

White Hot: The Rise & Fall of Abercrombie & Fitch (April 19)

This new documentary looks at the rise and fall of American brand Abercrombie & Fitch in the late 90s and early 00s including its discriminatory hiring and dubious marketing practices.

Senzo: Murder of a Soccer Star (April 7)

This new five-part true crime series examines the murder of 30-year-old South African soccer player Senzo Meyiwa., who was gunned down in an alleged botched robbery in 2014, with contributions from his family, investigators and key witnesses.
