Netflix fans 'unable to sleep' after watching 'anxiety-inducing' thriller I See You

Netflix fans say new film I See You is so “anxiety inducing” they’re unable to sleep. From director Adam Randall and starring Helen Hunt, the mystery thriller takes place in a seemingly-perfect town filled with perfect families.

But when a 12-year-old boy goes missing, lead investigator Greg Harper (Jon Tenney) struggles to balance the pressures of the case while finding a way to forgive his wife, Jackie (Hunt), for a recent affair. When a malicious presence manifests itself and puts their young son in danger, the truth about evil in the Harper household is finally uncovered.

The gripping film largely fell under the radar when it was released in December 2019 and was a box office bomb, grossing just $1.1m against a budget of $5m. Despite this, it has attracted generally positive reviews and currently boasts a Certified Fresh 75 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

I See You has now found a new audience after Netflix added the film to its platform in March and it has since soared to third place in the streamer’s global top 10 – as well as topping in the list in the US. Viewers have been gripped by the “creepy” film’s many twists and turns, with one citing it as the “best horror movie in a long time.”

But others have been left so disturbed by the film they said they were “not gonna be able to sleep.” Taking to Twitter, @ohsheabutter said: “I See You is just anxiety inducing. I’m feeling nauseous cause of how creepy it is.”
