Netflix fans 'disturbed and traumatised' by sickening new horror film Splice

Netflix viewers have said they're 'forever haunted' by the streaming service's new sci fi horror film Splice.

The horror film, originally released in 2009, stars Adrien Brody, Sarah Polley and Delphine Chanéac.

Splice follows a young scientific couple who try to introduce human DNA into their work of splicing animal genes.

At the end of March, Netflix added the 'traumatising' movie to their platform, leaving fans feeling 'physically ill'.

The people they worked for ask them to stop but the couple, Clive and Elsa, decide to continue in secret and create a female creature that ages much faster than humans.

The creature, named Dren, is moved to an isolated farm but it soon grows bored of confinement and wreaks havoc.

Viewers were horrified and took to the comment section to comment on the movie.

"This movie made me physically ill," one user said while another added: "Just watched Splice, never felt so disturbed in my life."

One person posted: "This movie will forever haunt me."

Another fan said: "I don't know why they decided to let that traumatic movie available for all."

"The most f***ed up movie I've ever watched. Splice. It's on Netflix," one user commented.

Splice had a budget of $30 million but only brought in $27.1 million at the box office.

The movie was a hit with fans and gained 75% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Netflix have uploaded many terrifying horror movies in recent months.

Korean thriller Unlocked was "one of the scariest" movies many fans have watched.

The technology-based film, which sees a woman's life get turned upside down after she loses her phone, was released on the streaming platform in February.

Another movie, called His House, had the same effect on fans after it was released.

The 2020 movie is now on the streaming site, with a fleet of scary film fans discovering it on the platform.

The film focuses on a young couple from war-torn South Sudan who are seeking asylum in England.

Their worst fears are realised when a sinister force starts tormenting them while living in their new home.

Taking to Twitter while watching, one viewer said: "I am in here literally screaming in broad daylight watching."
