Netflix has announced that Bridgerton season four has officially begun production and there’s a Ton of new cast members (see what I did there?) and some whose fate is still up in the air.
The shiny new press release included a bunch of sweet details including intel about brand spanking new and returning cast members, but there were some names left off the list which has got the rumour mill churning.
Read on for everything we know about Bridgerton season four.
Bridgerton season four cast
Netflix has been parcelling out lil casting announcements like Christmas pressies and we’ve already copped not one, but TWO teaser vids, revealing that the new leads are Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton) and Yerin Ha (Sophie Baek).
The first announcement revealed that the new season will focus on the second son and the Ton’s resident bisexual, Benedict Bridgerton. It was later revealed that his love interest in the series would be played by Korean-Australian actress Yerin Ha.

“The fourth season of Bridgerton turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict (Luke Thompson),” Netflix’s presser read.
“Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down — until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.”
Peep the announcement vids below:
It looks like Yerin isn’t the only newcomer next season as Netflix has revealed several other new cast members will be joining the fold. They include Harry Potter star Katie Leung who plays Lady Araminta Gun, a mother of two who’s on a mission to marry off at least one of her daughters.
Michelle Mao as Rosamund Li, Araminta’s eldest daughter and most prized possession who has a mad crush on Benedict (who doesn’t?).
Then there’s Isabella Wei who plays Posy Li, Rosamund’s younger sister who is much sweeter and more likeable.
And finally, we’ve got Emma Naomi (who plays Alice Mondrich) and Hugh Sachs (who plays Brimsley), both of whom will be part of the main cast this season.
In the new press release, the streaming giant announced that the following cast members will also be returning for another season of ye olde mayhem: Jonathan Bailey (Anthony Bridgerton), Victor Alli (Lord John Stirling), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Julie Andrews (Lady Whistledown), Lorraine Ashbourne (Mrs. Varley), Masali Baduza (Michaela Stirling), Nicola Coughlan (Penelope Bridgerton), Hannah Dodd (Francesca Stirling), Daniel Francis (Lord Marcus Anderson), Ruth Gemmell (Violet Bridgerton), Florence Hunt (Hyacinth Bridgerton), Martins Imhangbe (Will Mondrich), Claudia Jessie (Eloise Bridgerton), Luke Newton (Colin Bridgerton), Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), Will Tilston (Gregory Bridgerton), and Polly Walker (Portia Featherington).
Sounds like a solid line-up to me!
But did you notice some names are missing from that list? Let’s explore below…
Who is leaving Bridgerton?
The announcement has sparked rumours about several characters potentially leaving the show as they were not mentioned on the above list.
Those characters include season two love interest Kate (Simone Ashley), Cressida Cowper (Jessica Madsen), Prudence Featherington (Bessie Carter), Harry Dankworth (James Phoon) and Philippa Featherington (Harriet Cains).
When previously asked if she’ll be back for season four, Simone Ashley told PEOPLE: “I really hope so.”
“Both Johnny and I, we adore our characters, Kate and Anthony, so much and their relationship and what they mean for the show,” she added.
She promised “I think we’ll do all we can with our schedules to make it work so that we can, hopefully.”
Now, this doesn’t mean the aforementioned characters won’t appear in future episodes — it just means they haven’t been spotlighted as stars of Bridgerton season four.
Meanwhile, Lorn Macdonald — who played Albion Finch — recently made a social media post honouring his character, which seemed to indicate they were leaving the show for good.
Certainly sounds like a goodbye post to me! (Credit: Instagram)
“Albion Finch. What started off with cheese and a sneeze became a character I deeply care about,” he wrote.
“Huge thanks to everyone who made this a job I’ll never forget and to all the fans showing your love for this weird little dude. It means a lot. And to my Philippa. @harriet.cains. My partner in crime. It’s been real. Bless you.”
When will Bridgerton season four land on Netflix?
The eight-episode season will drop some time in 2026, so in the meantime, go ahead and binge the past three seasons on repeat to prepare your soul for what’s to come.
