Diamonds great Liz Ellis has been elected as the new chair of Netball Australia only weeks after joining the board.
The former World Cup-winning captain and star goal-keeper became a director last month and on Friday won the vote to succeed Wendy Archer, who announced earlier this year she was stepping down.
Ellis's election follows the appointment of Stacey West as the new CEO, while NA also announced a second-consecutive annual financial surplus this week.
The Diamonds' most-capped player, Ellis said one of her priorities was continued financial growth.
"It is a huge privilege to lead this great sport which has given me so much in my life and which plays such an important role in the lives of millions of girls and young women," Ellis said in a statement.
"Netball is in a healthy position.
"We're seeing record crowds at Suncorp Super Netball matches and growing broadcast audiences this season at the same time as revenue from our commercial partners is growing.
"Fans are more engaged than ever which is great to see, but we will all work hard to do even better."
