Josh Philippe maintained his strong early season one-day form and Josh Inglis made a surprise return for Western Australia as they scored 236 against a Michael Neser-inspired Queensland.

Philippe (73 off 94 balls) struck six fours and two sixes after WA lost the toss and were sent in at the WACA.

The fluent right-hander has scored a century and two fifties in four innings with a lowest score of 37 not out.

Neser (5-28 off 9.2 overs) beat the bat several times in the opening overs and smashed through the lower half of the order to record his best career figures.

WA included Inglis, who was pulled out of Australia's T20 World Cup squad earlier this month when he suffered a hand injury playing golf a few days before the host nation's first match of the tournament

Inglis was originally scheduled to return in a Sheffield Shield match later in the week, but was cleared to play on Saturday.

He looked good in making made 24 off 28 balls before being bowled by a good delivery from James Bazley which moved back in off the pitch.

It took WA 20 overs to get their run rate going with Neser and Mark Steketee (1-29 off 9) and Gurinder Sandhu (3-42 off 9) extracting some early movement.

They accelerated to 3-130 in the 31st over, when Philippe was well caught at backward point by Marnus Labuschagne after striking a six over off Sandhu's previous delivery.

A seventh wicket stand of 56 between Hilton Cartwright (41 off 38) and Matthew Kelly (33 off 32) added some late innings momentum after WA slumped to 6-166.

Neser earned lbw decisions with successive deliveries as WA lost 4-14 to be dismissed with 16 balls left.

Ladder-leading WA have won all three of their previous matches, Queensland have lost both of their earlier games.
