Manchester United legend Nemanja Vidic has named the defender he believes to be the best centre-back in the world.
Vidic made a name for himself at Old Trafford, making over 200 Premier League appearances for United between 2005-2014. In that time he won five Premier League titles, three League Cups, a Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Speaking to The Athletic, Vidic named the player he believes to be the best centre-back in the world. He went on to suggest that said defender's only weakness is the fact he's playing for the wrong club - presumably referencing the fact he should be playing for United.

He explained: "Virgil van Dijk is one of the best — if not the best — centre-backs in the world. He’s good physically and in the air.
"He has great ability. He’s grown a lot as a player since I first saw him play for Celtic.
"It helps that he’s in a good team, too. His weakness is that he’s playing for the wrong club."
The 30-year-old has been a crucial part of Liverpool's success since joining from Southampton. While at Anfield, he has won the Premier League, Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup.
