Neil McCann makes Rangers treble claim as he insists Michael Beale hasn't 'ruled out' league title

Neil McCann says a potential treble for Rangers is 'still on the go' and believes Michael Beale hasn't ruled out the title just yet.

The Rangers hero has high aspirations for the Englishman's first season charge as Beale is so-far undefeated as boss heading in to a blockbuster Viaplay Cup final on Sunday. Standing in the Light Blues' way of a first piece of silverware this season and a first League Cup triumph since 2011 is Ange Postecoglou's rampant league leaders who haven't tasted defeat since September.

Nine points is the difference in the league title race and while Beale himself admitted the chances of catching Celtic were 'low' McCann is not buying that the trophy is ruled out. In fact the BBC pundit believes a treble is 'still on the go' but expects he will learn a lot about his team after the final.

He told BBC Scotland: "It's going to be a cracking cup final. Since Mick Beale took over at Rangers, he's had a cracking run of results but performances haven't been at the top level that he thinks they're capable of.

"They've been enough to be comparable to Celtic, which is a feat in itself.

"It will give Mick Beale an idea of where his team are at. I don't think he's ruled out the league title yet, the treble is still on the go and this is a huge cup final for different reasons."

He added: "The big decision is going to be if Kyogo is fit. That will have a huge bearing because Celtic are a different side with Kyogo in it.

"He makes those littles runs down the defenders and he's so sharp. I think Rangers have shown that they've got a bit of determination and grit about them to win matches, even when they're not playing well."
