Neil Lennon insists Barry Robson MUST be Aberdeen's next permanent manager as his interim spell goes from strength to strength.
Robson has been in the Pittodrie hotseat since Jim Goodwin was dismissed in January and he's won eight of his ten games in charge - including a seven-game winning run that continued with a victory over Rangers on Sunday. He has them five points clear of Hearts in third place which seemed an impossibility just a few weeks ago and they are well on track for guaranteed European group stage football next season.
Liam Scales and Bojan Miovski sunk Rangers at Pittodrie and Lennon reckons things might have gone the other way had Michael Beale's team scored first. But the former Celtic and Hibs boss could only take his hat off to Robson as he continues to turn things around in the north-east. He told PLZ: "If Rangers had gone 1-0 up they would have gone on to win the game comfortably, but kudos to Barry. That's four or five wins in a row now, he's done a brilliant job of turning things around for Aberdeen and he's making a fantastic audition for the job.
"They should give him it. I don't think anyone could come in and do a better job than what Barry's done. He's got good staff there with Steve Agnew and Liam Fox.
"Interim jobs can be difficult or it can be easy. There's no pressure on you, you become friends with all the players, then when you get the job permanently things change a little bit. But I think Barry is mature enough and he's been at Aberdeen long enough to know the culture, the environment and what's required at the club. We're seeing that now."
