Former Celtic boss Neil Lennon is urging the Hoops hierarchy to release the purse strings and back Ange Postecoglou as he prepares the Hoops for their return to Champions League football.
The Glasgow giants are heading straight into the group stage of European football's elite competition next season after lifting the Scottish Premiership title.
Lennon, now managing Omonia in Cyprus, knows all about building Celtic squads capable of holding their own against the biggest and best club's at Parkhead and on the continent.
The 50-year-old feels the Hoops need to bolster their ranks this summer to make sure they're capable of going toe-to-toe with Europe's powerhouse clubs.
And he highlighted a replacement for Tom Rogic and another striker as key targets, with Celtic understood to still be keen on Ferencváros forward Ryan Mmaee.
Lennon told BBC Sportsound: "They need to spend.
"They need a bit more power in the team. They need a centre forward to play through the middle.
"They need a bit more physicality in the team. They are small, quick and dynamic players that use the ball very well but when you take that huge step up from Scottish football to European football you do need that bit more strength in depth.
"McGregor has been a revelation throughout his whole career.
"Losing Rogic is a blow because he's a mercurial type of player. They need a number ten type player to augment what they already have in midfield.
"They've got the potential now to spend some decent money because they get a huge windfall for being in the Champions League.
"It will be fantastic for Ange for his own development. He's already done great things in Australia, Japan and now Scotland.
"To take that step on to the Champions League, he should really be looking forward to it."
