SCOTT MCTOMINAY was full of praise for ex-Celtic manager Neil Lennon after last night's close-fought Europa League encounter at Old Trafford.
The Scotland international scored in stoppage time to seal victory for Manchester United against Omonia Nicosia.
The Cypriots ran the Premier League giants all the way until the midfielder scored in added time, to break the hearts of their 5,000 travelling fans, the players and of course Lenny.
United totally dominated the match, recording a whopping 33 shots on goal.
But Omonia defended resolutely and very nearly snatched a point at the Theatre of Dreams - which would've been one of Lennon's finest results in his management career.
However, while the Red Devils won, McTominay recognised Lennon as a "great coach" in what was nearly another European slip-up for Erik ten Hag's side.
He said: “We knew we needed to the win game but that they’d be fired up too. Neil Lennon is a great coach and no games like this are ever easy. Everyone is pleased with the result.
“You have to be patient sometimes. Their goalkeeper was a different class but we created enough chances and deserved to score in the end.
"It’s a massive goal because we need to win the group.”
