The launch date for the reboot of Neighbours has been finally announced along with a new trailer.
The original show — which focused on the lives, loves, and challenges of the residents on Ramsay Street in Erinsborough, Australia, a fictional suburb of Melbourne — came to an end last year after running for more than three decades.
It was then confirmed that the beloved soap had been saved by Amazon Freevee.
Fans won’t have much longer to wait as the online streaming has confirmed that it will return on September 18 with new episodes released daily, Monday-Thursday.
Jason Herbison, Neighbours’ Executive Producer, said: “All the cast and crew are incredibly excited that Ramsay Street will officially welcome viewers again to the neighbourhood on September 18 in the UK and Australia.”
A number of familiar faces will be returning such as Alan Fletcher and Jackie Woodburne as Karl and Susan Kennedy.
Stefan Dennis and Ryan Maloney will also be back as Paul Robinson and Toadie Rebecchi respectively.
It will also see the introduction of new characters including The OC star Mischa Barton as Marissa Cooper and the Varga-Murphy family for which it has been teased one member has “an ulterior motive for being in Erinsborough... And it’ll have explosive ramifications for their neighbours”.
