Neighbours living in what they say is the 'safest area of Nottingham' have described life in a low-crime community. Wollaton folk say they would never consider moving anywhere else.
The leafy suburb has had the least crime reports across the entire city, according to the latest data. Figures from the Home Office reveal there were just 68 reports of crimes - of which 22 were reports of violence and sexual offences. There were also eleven reports of shoplifting, and eleven of criminal damage and arson. By contrast, Arboretum and Hyson Green, which have been grouped together on police.uk, has recorded recorded 289 crime reports - of which 105 were reports of violence and sexual offences.
Sarah Smith, 29, has always lived in Wollaton. She said: "No one feels in danger here. I think we have a problem with litter and dog poo. But there is nothing criminal happening here.

"I walk here all the time. I feel confident to walk in the evening as well - I would never walk into the city at night. I think it is very telling about how dangerous I think Nottingham is.
"We do not have any issues here, it is quite different to Nottingham. There is nowhere else like Wollaton - it is the safest area and it is not surprising.
"We never experience crime here. I would never move anywhere else."
Neighbours have praised Wollaton Hall, its gardens and deer park, as well as the greenery in the area. Many said the park attracts people from all across the city.
Retired Jessica Carisbrooke, 57, also lives in Wollaton. She said: "I recently had a stalker. It was a shock because it usually is safe around here."
She added: "It is beautiful and just fantastic. In general, when there is something happening here it comes as a surprise because it is a safe area. You just do not expect it.
"When a deer escaped from the park that was in the news. The smallest thing, if it happens in Wollaton, is newsworthy.
"I feel very lucky to live here. It is very different to other areas in Nottingham. It is so different from the other areas in Nottingham."
Hugh Jones, 70, agreed and added: "Most of the time it is quiet and peaceful. It is not boring, you can always just go for a walk in Wollaton and just enjoy the park - it is beautiful."
