Neighbours on a Merseyside street were left scratching their heads this morning when they looked out of the window.
People on Alderson Road in Wavertree came out of their houses to bring in their wheelie bins after a collection this morning. But instead of seeing their wheelie bins in their usual position on the pavement, they were baffled to find every single bin on its side.
In a a bizarre photo taken by a passerby a row of blue and purple bins can be seen all on their side all the way down the street.
And nobody seems to fully know why the bins have been put in this odd position. A post in a local Facebook group about the issue has racked up over 60 likes and 84 comments. The post said: "Guys what's happening on Alderson Road?"
One person commented: "My elderly aunt who has lived in the same house most of her life just told me about this. She said the bin men emptied them and then kicked them over."

One theory is that the bins have been put on their side to be collected and will soon be replaced by larger street community bins. One person said: "Apparently all the individual bins are being collected when the community bins are installed."
Another person commented: "Wheels are being taken off the bins and then the bins are collected by a van to take them away. This happened to us this morning". Another person said: "Yeah they did it with ours at 7am this morning and woke me up from a lovely sleep. They collected all our bins and took them away."
The ECHO has approached the council for a comment.
