Neighbours in a Nottingham 'mini city' described their new estate as 'lovely' as new homes and business continue to come to the area. The 800-home Teal Close development, off Colwick Loop Road, also includes Teal Park, where businesses and shops will open.
It is now home to dozens of people who have the Victoria Retail Park and Aldi all within walking distance, while Popeyes also recently announced plans to open a takeaway.
There is also a school on the estate, a selection of walks and an eco dog park which is proving popular with residents. HGV driver, Terry Rothery, 51, has lived on the estate since 2020.

He said: "It's a quiet area and it's a bit in the countryside but not out of the way." When asked his favourite part of living there, he replied: "It's the peacefulness and it's so quiet.
"It's quite close to all the shops which is handy." He mentioned that he was a dog owner and there were a lot of walks nearby, adding: "There's quite a lot of dogs on here, it's great."
Accounts manager, Roxana Diaz, 41, said: "We've been living here for three years in November." She explained that they moved for "the location and it's just a nice area, not far from school for the girls."
Roxana added: "My favourite thing is it's a quiet area and we obviously have the shops there. We've got a dog and there's a lovely walk behind here so we have the best of both worlds."
In February it was announced part of the development would be redeveloped as a water pipe was discovered under a section of land. Persimmon amended its plan as a result. Amendments to the plans will affect the design and location of 16 homes on this part of the scheme, including the introduction of an additional home. It takes the total number of homes in the third phase up to 256, joining 199 homes in the first phase which is now nearing completion.
A retired 66 year old who did not wish to be named said: "I moved here three years ago, it was lockdown day that we moved in. Everyone gets on and our neighbours are lovely.
"When we get to that age it's all nice and flat and there's good access." Speaking of his favourite part about living on the estate, he said: "All of it really, it's just a nice friendly environment."
He added: "There's a lot of builder's shops and there are lots of other shops but there's not a lot of clothing shops, there's only Next if you wanted to walk and get some clothes. Everything else is here, so you're never short of getting something.
"It is really nice here." Human resource worker, Courtney Inman, 24, also enjoys her new home on the estate.
She said: "I like the eco park for the dogs." Courtney feels that the area "definitely" has a community feel and there are lots of "lovely" walks nearby and it's close to the shops.
