Neighbours have described seeing 'blue lights- through the curtains' as emergency services were called to the scene in the Wilford Crescent area following an incident on Friday evening, December 30. Nottinghamshire Police were called to reports of a serious assault in The Meadows
Officers said a man in his early 20s suffered a single puncture wound. Officers have issued a statement which says they are investigating reports of a serious assault in The Meadows area of Nottingham.
His condition is not life-threatening and he has since been discharged from hospital. Police said they believe this was an isolated incident and that there is no wider risk to the public.

Local resident Syed Fasi, 33 an Uber driver who moved with his wife to Nottingham from London, said: "I came from work that night and there were many police cars and ambulances. It [the police presence] was massive.
"I asked police what happened and they did not tell me. I was very worried because it happened so close to my home. It is very concerning."
He added: "Right now, I am looking for houses somewhere else because I do not feel safe around here. It seems dangerous."
Hamza Zahid, 27, who works at Wilford Grove, said he was away when the incident happened - but it was his colleague who alerted him. He said: "My colleague just said that something happened, and police needed CCTV footage. He asked me if I could come in but I was in Northampton at the time."
Brian Harty, 48, has lived in the area for four years. He added: "I had police knocking on my door at midnight. But I had not heard or seen anyone until police knocked on my door.
"It always happens in The Meadows. It always happens around here."
Police said the victim, a man in his early 20s, was treated for a single puncture wound in hospital following the assault. His condition is not life-threatening and he has since been discharged from hospital. Police said they believe this was an isolated incident and that there is no wider risk to the public.
A concerned resident, who wished to remain anonymous, added: "It is not unusual around here. We have young children and we basically shut the curtains and windows all the time.
"I did not hear anything, but my daughter saw the police and heard that it was a young man around her age who was taken to the hospital."
Another resident said he was frightened to see police near his home, adding: "I did not want to look outside. I was frightened.
"I could see the blue lights through the curtains and it just looked like there were many cars parked outside. It is scary."
Detective Inspector Pamela Dowson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are working to understand what happened and our investigation is ongoing. Anyone with additional who has not already spoken to us is asked to call 101 quoting incident 684 of 30 December 2022."
