Neighbours bid an emotional goodbye to its UK fans as the final ever episode aired on Channel 5.
There was shock and upset earlier this year when it was announced that the much loved Australian soap was being axed after 37 years on screen, with its British broadcaster Channel 5 pulling the plug to concentrate on homegrown shows and a replacement unable to be found Down Under.
While petitions were set up to try and save Neighbours, these were to no avail as it was then confirmed by bosses that it was definitely ending. And then, ever since its final air dates were confirmed, fans have been counting the days, as well as willing them to slow down as they came to terms with the lunchtime and teatime staple being no more.

The Neighbours finale aired in Australia on Thursday, meaning UK viewers had to wait a day later to see Neighbours returning cast member s like Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan return to Ramsay Street.
Aside from Scott and Charlene coming back to familiar turf, highlights of the last episode included Toadie and Mel's wedding, romantic reunions for both Paul and Terese and Jane and Erinsborough high school sweetheart Mike and video messages from big names like Margot Robbie, Natalie Imbruglia and Delta Goodrem.
The final monologue from Jackie Woodbourne, in the role of Susan Kennedy, saw her mention 'those we've lost,' as big favourites like Madge Bishop and Doug Willis appeared as ghosts, before there was a real nod to the past with snippets from Neighbours theme tunes from over the years.
It all got a bit too much for some Neighbours fans. Taking to Twitter in floods of tears, one posted: "Didn't expect that to end with me in full on cry mode. #Neighbours will always have a place in my heart and that ending was beautiful," with another tweeting: "Well that was more emotional than I expected. End of an era."
