Neighbours fans in the UK have hit out at Channel 5 for 'cutting' key moments from the final episode that Australian viewers got to see a day earlier.
Many die hard viewers of the Australian soap still haven't come to terms with the fact that it's been axed after 37 years, after its UK broadcaster, Channel 5, pulled the plug, deciding it no longer had a place on its schedule.
Attempts to find someone to take Neighbours fell on deaf ears and this week, fans have been delighted by the return of Neighbours stars to Ramsay Street, with well known characters like Scott, Charlene, Izzy, Jane and Mike all arriving back in Erinsborough.
One of the major highlights of the Neighbours finale, other than Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan's much hyped appearance, was the wedding of Toadie and Mel. However, a poignant exchange of words between the Kennedys and 'adopted' son Toadie was cut from Friday's Channel 5 screening, despite being in the Australian episode on Thursday.

The speech saw Toadie thank Karl and Susan for them treating him 'like a son,' before they assured him that he was a son to them. One annoyed British fan tweeted Alan Fletcher, the actor who plays Karl to say: "Managed to watch with Australia in the UK yesterday and just watched the UK one I’m fuming they cut your lovely speech down you said to Toadie, Melanie and the kids before showing the video tributes it was such a lovely moment why they did that i don’t know."
Another moment missing from the UK broadcast of t he Neighbours finale involved Natalie Imbruglia. She appeared in a video message as her 90s character Beth, but her message to Beth's son Ned, who was in the show in person, also ended up on the cutting room floor, as did an appearance by Stephanie Macintosh as her Ramsay Street alias Sky Mangel.
One confused viewer wrote: "Sky was one of my favourite characters and I saw her name at the end but didn't spot her! I even flicked back through the episode twice."
