***THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE FINALE OF NEIGHBOURS***
Neighbours aired an emotional finale today - as a number of A-listers returned and characters were left in tears.
The Channel 5 soap aired on Australian television today, as emotional fans bid farewell to the soap after 37 years on screen. There had been petitions by fans to save the show, but without another backer, the soap was forced to end for good.
Multiple stars have returned for the finale - including Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan as Charlene and Scott - whilst Guy Pearce is also one of the big names to come back for the last episode.
The episode began as Callum Rebecchi (Morgan Baker) returned to see his adoptive father Toadie, who is set to finally say I do in the finale episode, before Mike Young (Guy Pearce) stepped onto the street for the first time in years.
Thrilled fans took to Twitter to say they had been waiting "decades" for his return, as Guy himself admitted it was "surreal" to be back. Emotional fans also took to Twitter to celebrate the beautiful moment between Jane Harris (Annie Jones) and Mike.
And in a funny moment from the finale, Sam joked of the famous street name: "Why's it called a Street when it's a Court?"
The finale featured many flashbacks as Jane and Mike toured the street together, including the iconic Ramsay Street Olympics. Many of the residents are setting off for pastures new, with all of them having different reasons to head away.
But in a twist, they decided to remain on the street they've called home for years.
Jason and Kylie made their poignant return as Scott and Charlene, with Especially for You playing on the radio as they headed into Ramsay Street. Stopping on the street, Scott leaned in to kiss Charlene on the head.
"Wow wow wow," Scott said as they stepped out of the car, "This is crazy. We made it eh?"
Charlene then declares: "Home sweet home."
Whilst some might have returned to the Street, others made their final cameo through video, as they sent a message to the couple on their big wedding day including Hollywood star Margot Robbie.
In one of the final scenes, Jane and Charlene reunited with a hug as Scott could be seen running to join them whilst Jane and Mike decided to get back together, thrilling fans, as Mike made a decision to move back to Ramsay Street.
To finish the episode, Susan delivered a poignant monologue as Madge Bishop appeared - as a ghost - as the final cameos aired to round off the soap's nearly four decades on screen.
Alan Fletcher - who played Dr Karl Kennedy - had previously confessed he struggled to hold back tears as he filmed the final scenes.
"It was very hard to fight back tears as we were saying the dialogue for what was going to be the last moments of the show," he told The Mirror of the emotional final scene, "There were hundreds of people in the studio to watch that final piece of filming. We had some speeches, I said a few words. There were some tears. There were some celebrations."
Elsewhere, Kylie admitted everything just came "flooding back" when she stepped on Ramsay Street for the final time.
"It was lovely and emotional. Driving into Ramsay Street was quite something."
Asked about her reaction to being back on set, she added: "Firstly, where's all that time gone? Secondly, everything looks exactly the same. Thirdly, Scott, Charlene, Jane, Harold - it all just came flooding back."
