Neighbours has been saved and will return to Irish screens next year with a brand new series - just months after they said an emotional farewell this year.
Amazon Freevee has come to the soaps’ rescue as they announced the return of the show, with a brand new series to begin filming in Australia next year.
Following the revival news, RTE bosses have confirmed it will also return to Irish audiences.

An RTE spokesperson told Irish Daily Mirror: “RTÉ is looking forward to welcoming Neighbours back in 2023.”
The news comes after the iconic soap, which follows the lives of the Ramsay Street residents in Erinsborough, came to an emotional end this summer after 37 years.
It was the end of an era at home and abroad for the long running Australian soap, which has been broadcast on RTE twice daily since 2001, and to a huge audience in the UK for over 30 years.
The new series will begin filming in Australia next year, and will premiere for free exclusively on Amazon Freevee in the second half of the year, following a deal with program maker Fremantle.
Fans will be delighted to hear show favourites including Alan Fletcher(Karl Kennedy), Stefan Dennis(Paul Robinson), Ryan Moloney(Toadie) and Jackie Woodburne(Susan Kennedy) will be reprising their roles.
In a social media teaser clip announcing the show's return, Woodburne, 66, is seen running to tell the others about the news.
"Have you heard the news? We're coming back," she says, excitedly, to which Moloney responds, "I'm there" before Fletcher adds: "Works for me."
"Hang on, going to have to check my diary," says Dennis.
He adds: "All right, I'll make myself available. Happy?"
They went on to all embrace each other in a hug as they exclaimed excitedly: "We're coming back!".
Woodburne added: “We can’t wait to begin this exciting new adventure with you. See you in 2023.”
They announced that the streaming site will also have thousands of Neighbours episodes from previous years in their catalogue for viewers to watch back.
A world premiere is slated for the second half of the year.
It comes just months after bosses announced the long-running Australian soap was coming to an end for good this year, after nearly four decades on screen.
The decision came as they struggled to find a new home and funding to continue the show after their UK broadcaster Channel 5 revealed they were dropping the show from the schedule.
Freevee will have the exclusive rights in the UK and U.S. and will take streaming rights to thousands of previous episodes, which will be available before the new run’s premiere. Network 10 will have first run rights in Australia and Prime Video will also show it there Australia, along with in New Zealand and Canada.
