An alleged attacker, described as being dressed "witchy", is accused of threatening to kill her ex-partner while striking his front door with a hammer.
"I'm going to kill you, I'm coming in, you piece of shit," the 51-year-old woman is accused of yelling.
A neighbour is said to have heard screams and after being threatened by the other woman, grabbed a metal pole to protect herself and a "scuffle" broke out.
The accused woman, who has not been named to protect the alleged victims' identity, audibly sobbed before being granted bail in the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday.
She is yet to enter pleas to two charges of threatening to kill another person, and single counts of possessing an offensive weapon, attempted aggravated burglary, property damage and resisting a territory public official. Some of the charges were aggravated due to alleged family violence.
Court documents state that on Sunday the accused woman sent text messages to her ex-partner including: "I am coming to Dickson and what goes down I don't care, but I am not letting you get away with treating me the way you have".
"You are not stopping what is about to go down," she allegedly wrote.
"I will crash and burn everything. You have no f---ing idea about what I am prepared to do."
Before 4pm, the woman allegedly went to her ex's home and had a verbal argument. He told police he believed she had an axe.
About two-and-a-half hours later, she is said to have returned and started striking the man's front door with a hammer, while yelling: "I'm going to kill you, I'm coming in, you piece of shit."
A neighbour heard a woman screaming and opened her door to see what was happening.
The neighbour described seeing a woman wearing black and dressed "witchy".
The alleged attacker is said to have turned to face the other woman and threatened "I'm going to kill you, too, I'm gonna smash you in the head, too", while holding a hammer and a crow bar.
The document states the neighbour "felt she had no choice but to defend herself" and grabbed a metal pole, before a "scuffle" broke out.
The 51-year-old was forced down a set of stairs, and hid near dumpsters after spotting a police car.
She then returned and allegedly threatened the neighbour again, saying: "I'm gonna kill you, I'm gonna use the hammer to bash your head in."
The accused woman was arrested shortly afterwards and allegedly kicked out at police officers.
On Monday, special magistrate Sean Richter said it was "a tough balancing act" but ultimately granted bail with strict conditions.
The woman is set to return to court in late October.
