The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2023 on June 13 evening with two students securing a perfect score.
Tamil Nadu’s Prabanjan J. and Andhra Pradesh’s Bora Varun Chakravarthi have topped the NEET exam with a 99.99 percentile. Meanwhile, the maximum number of qualifying candidates are from Uttar Pradesh followed by Maharashtra and Rajasthan.
This year NTA conducted NEET-UG for 20,87,462 candidates at 4,097 different centres located in 499 cities throughout the country including 14 cities outside India on May 7.
The medical entrance exam was conducted in the State of Manipur for 8,753 candidates at 34 centres located in 11 cities on the request of the State Government of Manipur on June 6.
According to a release issued by NTA the examination was conducted in 13 languages (Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu).
The examination was also conducted outside India in Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Colombo, Doha, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur, Lagos, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah, Singapore along with Dubai and Kuwait City.
It added that seven candidates were identified using unfair practices in the examination.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) will conduct the counselling for 15% All India quota seats, deemed universities, Central Universities, seats of ESIC and AFMC, BHU and AMU.
Candidates have been asked to visit the website for further information. “Candidates will apply for 15% All India Quota seats as per the directions of DGHS and Counselling will be stopped once the seats are exhausted. The details and schedule of counselling would be available on the websites of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education Directorates of States,” added the release.
For State quota and other seats falling under the ambit of States, candidates may apply to their domicile States and a merit list as per State rules, based on All India Rank, will be prepared by concerned counselling authorities. Counselling for private medical colleges will also be conducted by the concerned State Counselling Authority. Candidates are advised to be in touch with the respective counselling authorities and Institutions concerned for further details.
