Neeraj Chopra classic javelin throw event to be held in Panchkula on May 24

Panchkula, Haryana: The Neeraj Chopra Classic, an elite international javelin throw competition, will take place in Panchkula on May 24, featuring two-time Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra. World Athletics confirmed the event on Thursday, marking it as a Gold Category meet—a crucial qualifier for the World Championships.

The competition will be held at Panchkula’s Tau Devi Lal Stadium, attracting top global throwers. Chopra, the reigning world champion, will kick off his 2025 season at the Doha Diamond League on May 16, just a week before the Panchkula event.
