Jamie Carragher has expressed his concerns over the emergence of the Saudi Pro League.
Karim Benzema left Real Madrid to sign for Al-Ittihad earlier this month and marked the first transfer of many players from top European clubs sealing moves to Saudi Arabia for lucrative sums of money. N'Golo Kante has since joined the same club, while Ruben Neves is set to complete a £47million switch to Al Hilal.
Chelsea are currently at the centre of a controversial debate regarding potential links to the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia, which has become a hot topic as a number of stars from Mauricio Pochettino's side attract interest from the Pro League.
Gary Neville has called upon the Premier League to place an embargo on Chelsea until it can be proven there is no wrongdoing at play, with Carragher also unhappy with the current situation that is unfolding.

Reports emerged on Wednesday evening claiming Bernardo Silva is the latest Saudi-bound player, despite Paris Saint-Germain appearing to be in pole position to secure the services of the Manchester City midfielder. Of the opinion this transfer would mark a worrying point for football should it go ahead, Carragher has called on UEFA and the Premier League to put a stop to Saudi attempts of 'sportswashing' through bringing the best players in Europe to the Middle East.
The Liverpool great tweeted: "Bernardo Silva is in his peak years & has been one of the best players in Europe for the last five years! I wasn’t worried about the Saudi League taking players in their 30’s, a touch worried with players below the elite (Neves) but if this happens it feels like a game changer.
"Saudi have taken over Golf, the big Boxing fights & now they want to take over football!! This sports washing needs to be stopped! @premierleague @UEFA."
