'Need to answer this question' - Bruno Guimaraes gives Newcastle injury return update

Bruno Guimaraes hopes to be 'ready' to make his Newcastle United return this weekend but admits he is not sure if he will meet this 'goal'. The Magpies' midfielder has missed the last three fixtures for Eddie Howe's side, but is in contention for a comeback for Sunday's televised clash at West Ham.

Guimaraes was withdrawn from the squad ahead of the draw at Wolves on August 28 with a 'slight niggle', and was in line to return with Allan Saint-Maximin for the home clash with Crystal Palace. However, both players ultimately missed out on the matchday squad for the frustrating goalless draw which was overshadowed by a VAR call.

The former Lyon playmaker joined by team-mates Miguel Almiron, Joelinton, and Javier Manquillo for a meet and greet session with Newcastle supporters at the club's store at St James' Park on Tuesday. Guimaraes posed for pictures and signed autographs, and was also regularly asked for an update on his hamstring injury.
