Necropsy reveals cause of death for Gene Hackman’s dog

  • Zinna was found deceased in a crate near Arakawa's body in their New Mexico home in February, while Hackman’s body was found elsewhere in the home.
  • The couple's two other dogs survived.
  • Hackman died from heart disease complicated by Alzheimer's, while Arakawa succumbed to hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, medical examiners earlier revealed.
  • The actor and his pianist wife led a private life after moving to Santa Fe years ago, and their estate is seeking to block the public release of detailed reports about their deaths.
