Neal Maupay has described how he can play alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin at Everton and detailed his frustration that he couldn't make his debut for his new side sooner.
The striker arrived at Goodison Park in the summer transfer window from Brighton. The 26-year-old put pen-to-paper on a three-year contract with his new club to provide more quality in the forward areas of the pitch, with Frank Lampard looking to fill the gap of goals following the exit of Richarlison.
Calvert-Lewin is set to return from injury soon after being ruled out for the opening matches of the season, but Maupay doesn't believe that necessarily means they will be competing for the same place in the Everton side.

He said: "I think we can play together. We are two strikers, but we are completely different in terms of attributes. He's very tall, strong, in the box a lot - whereas my game is more coming short and running in behind.
"Obviously I don't have his physical ability, so I think we can play together. I've played with strikers like him; Danny Welbeck, Ollie Watkins. I can play a No.9, I can play with someone else.
"To be successful in the Premier League you've got to have two or three players in every position. There's a lot of games, there's injuries.
"If Dom plays and we play only one striker I'll come off the bench, we'll find a way. But the more quality we have the better it is for the team."
Maupay has only made one appearance so far for his new side, starting the 0-0 draw against Liverpool earlier in the month. However, there was some controversy surrounding the reason he was unavailable for the club's previous match.
Everton found out shortly before their game away to Leeds United a few days earlier that their new signing hadn't been registered in time, thanks to there being a bank holiday to begin that week. And the forward has now revealed just how frustrating that was for him to digest.
He added: "It was tough because I couldn't get registered on time to play Brentford a few days before [the Leeds game], because I'd signed on the Friday afternoon and it should have been before 12pm.
"I couldn't play in this game but I felt like it wasn't too bad, because I had another game in three days which I was looking forward to. But the day before the game, the Monday morning, we found out that I wasn't registered.
"It was tough, because in my head I was already ready for that game and I was looking forward to it. We appealed to the Premier League and they said we couldn't do anything about it.
"It was very frustrating to sign on the Friday and then being told I couldn't play on Tuesday at 8pm, it doesn't make sense. If our game would have been on TV on Wednesday I would have been registered.
"So I guess there were some rules and we couldn't do anything about it. I was desperate to play, but it happens."
Maupay had a brilliant chance to get off to the perfect start in his Everton career with a goal against Liverpool, only to be denied by a saved from Alisson. He admits that he has been thinking about that opportunity, but he is not going to let it consume him as he knows the goals will come.
He remarked: "A hundred percent, especially because we haven't played a game since. I've had time to think about whether I should have done this and that, but in the end you can't do anything about it can you?
"So I just have to deal with it, get back to work on finishing every day in training, and make sure that the next one will be in the net.
"I'm confident with the team we have, the quality we have in the team. I know I can fit into this team and score goals. Obviously I didn't in my first game but I will, and we will, score goals."
