Selection Sunday is always a joyous day for so many teams and players who are realizing their dreams of playing on college basketball’s biggest stage. But not everyone can make the cut. Following the broadcast where the 68 teams selected were named, NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee chairman Chris Reynolds explained why Oklahoma State was the first team out.
“When you look at their résumé, they had 18 opportunities in the Quad 1 and they won only six games and they had opportunities in the non-conference of schedule to win some games to enhance their résumé and they fell a little short,” Reynolds said.
During the CBS segment, Oklahoma State’s résumé was compared to Nevada’s—the last team in.
