Heading into the final week of regular-season play for No. 22 NC State, it’s apparent they felt a bit slighted while being listed as underdogs against rival North Carolina. The Wolfpack proceeded to dominate their matchup en route to a 39–20 victory.
That moved NC State to 9–3 on the year while handing UNC its fourth loss in six games dropped the Tar Heels to 8–4 on the season.
The victory for the Wolfpack marks the third consecutive year Dave Doeren’s squad has defeated UNC, and the head coach had some choice words about that fact after the game.
“Hey, you know it’s been 1,460 days since those pieces of s*** beat us,” Doeren proclaimed to his players in the locker room.

The victory also marked NC State’s fifth consecutive win of the year, and they’re now likely bound for a high-profile bowl game matchup.
