According to Jackson, the situation with Robinson is unprecedented in North Carolina politics, stating, 'We're seeing an implosion by this candidate, the likes of which we've never seen in North Carolina, frankly.' He emphasized that given the tight margins in most statewide races, including his own 50-50 race, Robinson's influence could sway multiple elections by even a small margin.
Jackson commended the efforts of Kamala Harris' campaign in addressing the fallout from the Robinson scandal and their robust ground game in North Carolina. He noted that Harris is employing various strategies to secure victory in the state.
Furthermore, Jackson made it clear that Robinson's actions do not align with the values of North Carolinians. He asserted, 'We are good people. We are not Mark Robinson,' indicating that Robinson's behavior will not be normalized in the upcoming election.
Jackson expressed confidence that moderate Republicans will distance themselves from Robinson, stating, 'I don't think that's going to happen here. I think moderate Republicans are going to say, 'I don't want to be associated with this.'' He believes that voters will reject Robinson's conduct and opt for candidates who better represent their values.
