On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Lakers went up by 14 points in the first quarter against the Sacramento Kings, and it looked as if they might find a way to win their second game in a row.
But, in an all-too-familiar trend, they gave up the lead when they stopped doing what had gotten them the lead in the first place.
Down the stretch, L.A. walked the ball upcourt and kept running the shot clock down in a fit of indecision and offensive stagnation, while the Kings gained more and more confidence and rhythm.
The result: a 116-111 loss, the Lakers’ fourth in their last five games.
Lakers fans across Twitter are getting sick of seeing this same movie over and over again.
Lakers unraveling after being up 14 is on brand.
Like the 10th game this season.

I really hate the Lakers' approach with LeBron and Russ on the court down the stretch of games. It's your turn my turn and neither are very effective.

At this point fans are shooting better on half court shots than the Lakers do on 3s https://t.co/Z8N5Vvtqwp
