NBA Twitter reacts to Warriors taking 3-2 series lead over Kings after road win in Game 5

Throughout the entire 2022-23 campaign, the Golden State Warriors have struggled mightily away from San Francisco’s Chase Center. To make a move in the first round of the playoffs against the No. 3 seed Sacramento Kings, the Warriors would have to steal a game on the road.

With the series tied at 2-2, the defending champs handled business.

Behind a fierce effort in the frontcourt from Kevon Looney and Draymond Green, the Warriors survived a late onslaught from the Kings to hold on for a much-needed road win in Game to take a commanding 3-2 lead in the series.

In his first game back at Golden 1 Center since being ejected in Game 2, Green recorded a vintage performance. In 32 minutes off the bench, Green tallied 21 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the floor with seven assists, four rebounds and four steals. Green also splashed a clutch 3-pointer in his season-high scoring effort.

Looney continued his dominant performance on the glass in the playoffs with 22 rebounds to go along with seven assists and four points in 35 minutes.

Curry led the way for the Warriors in scoring with 31 points on 12-of-25 shooting from the floor with eight assists and two rebounds in 42 minutes.

Playing with a finger injury, De’Aaron Fox notched 24 points on 9-of-25 shooting from the floor. Clinging to a nine-point lead in the final frame, the Warriors’ defense held the NBA Clutch Player of the Year scoreless in the final frame on 0-of-6 shooting from the field.

With a 3-2 series lead, the Warriors will now have the chance to advance to the next round of the playoffs with a win at Chase Center in San Francisco on Friday night in Game 6.

Following the Warriors’ win on Wednesday, the NBA community on Twitter exploded with reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Wednesday night.
