With Stephen Curry ruled out for the game due to an ankle injury, the Golden State Warriors fell into an early hole against the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday evening at Chase Center.
With the Spurs heating up from beyond the arc, the Warriors fell behind by 19 points in the first half. Over the first two quarters, the Spurs hit 10 3-pointers in the first half on 62.5% shooting from beyond the arc against Golden State’s leaky defense.
While the Warriors made multiple attempts to dig into the Spurs’ advantage, it wasn’t enough. Without Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs had five members tally 17 points or more on the way to an upset win on the road against the Warriors, 126-113.
Scoring 19 points in the fourth quarter, Jonathan Kuminga tallied 26 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field with three rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes. Klay Thompson scored a game-high 27 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the floor with five made 3-pointers, but it wasn’t enough against the Spurs.
Following the Warriors’ ugly loss to the Spurs, the NBA community on Twitter chimed in with reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Saturday night.

Soâ¦.
You wanted a defensively oriented starting five, but went with a CP3/Podz backcourt
And left your best POA in Wiggins on the bench?
Maybe I’m just not smart cuz this makes no sense. https://t.co/qD2UoHpBF8

Largest lead the Warriors had in the game was 2 points, versus the worst team in the West missing its top two scorers, Wemby and Vassell. https://t.co/JuuFiNTZ8N

That caps an ill-timed 1-3 week for the Warriors. Blown out in Boston, blow out the Bucks, but then lose at home to the Bulls and now Spurs. They are 33-30, dropping back to the 10th seed with only 19 games left.

Warriors fall to the Spurs 126-113.
They now sit a game behind the Lakers in 10th.
