After securing an 18-point lead at home, it appeared the Golden State Warriors were on their way to a comfortable win over the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday night.
However, an ice-cold stretch from beyond the arc opened the door for a Charlotte comeback. The Warriors missed 18 consecutive 3-pointers before Klay Thompson snapped their streak of misses with a much-needed triple.
Led by Terry Rozier and LaMelo Ball, the Hornets erased Golden State’s lead, tying the game in the fourth quarter. As each traded buckets in the final period, a pair of tough back-to-back buckets from Jonathan Kuminga gave the Warriors a four-point advantage with under 1:30 remaining in the game.
The pairing of Jordan Poole and Kuminga provided what the Warriors needed down the final 90 seconds to end the Hornets’ comeback hopes with a win, 110-105.
Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 29 points on 10-of-22 shooting from the floor with five made triples to go along with five boards and four assists in 39 minutes. Poole added 24 points, six assists and two rebounds.
LaMelo Ball led the Hornets with 21 points on 7-of-25 shooting from the floor with a pair of triples, four assists and three boards in 34 minutes.
After the Warriors held on for a victory over the Hornets, the NBA community on Twitter chimed in with reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Tuesday night.

Warriors hold off the Hornets. They're 2-0 to open this eight-game homestand without Steph Curry. Jordan Poole had 24 points, six assists, created when he had to late. Jonathan Kuminga was huge down the stretch. Klay Thompson had 29 points. Overall record: 17-18.

That's two home wins in a row for the Warriors to improve to 17-18 this season. Thoughts on tonight's victory over Charlotte?

I think my favorite Kuminga moment was when he jumped like 3 feet higher than everyone else on the floor for that defensive board in traffic. Dude can levitate.
