After a tight back-and-forth battle, the Golden State Warriors and Portland Trail Blazers were tied at 95 points after three quarters on Wednesday night’s contest.
Despite forcing six turnovers in the fourth quarter, the Warriors struggled to close down the stretch again against the Trail Blazers. After the Blazers took a three-point lead with 4:31 remaining in the contest, the Warriors’ offense went ice cold until there were only 48 seconds left in the game. Donte DiVincenzo and Klay Thompson hit late 3-pointers in the final seconds, but it was too late. Portland’s late run helped seal a 125-122 victory over Golden State.
Jordan Poole led the way with a game-high 38 points on 13-of-25 shooting from the field with 13-of-25 shooting from the field with seven made triples to go along with seven assists and a rebound in 35 minutes.
On his 33rd birthday, Thompson tallied 31 points on 12-of-28 shooting from the floor with five assists and three rebounds in 38 minutes.
Damian Lillard notched a triple-double for Portland with 33 points, 11 assists and 10 boards in 40 minutes.
After the Warriors struggled to close out another game, the NBA community on Twitter chimed in with different reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Wednesday night.

Damian Lillard finished with his second career triple-double — 33 pts, 12 asts, 10 Rebs. It's his 44th career 30-point, 10 assist game.
Jordan Poole had 38 points, his 10th 30-point game this season (matching his total from last season).

Warriors fall 125-122 in Portland. Jordan Poole (38) and Klay Thompson (31) combine for 69 points, but it wasn't enough.
What went wrong for the visiting team tonight?

Warriors went without a fourth quarter point from the 5:47 mark to the :46 second mark. They were a -7 down the stretch in Portland. Another late-game failure on the road. Drops their record back to 28-27. They still haven't been three games above .500 all season.

Golden State falls to Portland 125-122.
The Warriors went scoreless from the 5:48 mark until :46, struggling yet again to close out.

That play essentially sums up the Warriors offensive philosophy this season. Wiggins passed up a layup for a 3 kick out when down 4.

Looking at the teams above GSW… they may be stuck in the play-in tourney unless they chase wins rest of the way. pic.twitter.com/EgJbhjgvKs

They’re not making a trade, folks. Temper your expectations.

The 4 chances the Warriors have had to move 3 games above .500:
-Andrew Nembhard turned into unanimous MVP Steph
-Saddiq Bey game-winning bullshit buzzer-beater 3
-Blew 14-point 4th quarter lead vs. T-Wolves
-5-minute scoreless drought in final 6 minutes of 4th quarter tonight— Brian Witt (@Wittnessed) February 9, 2023
I already know Bob Myers ain’t gon do shit before the deadline. Scared ass team never makes mid season moves even when there’s glaring needs. 2021 all over again. Goodnight y’all 😴 pic.twitter.com/7qz55Fzb4r

Portland 125 GSW 122 Final. Golden State made some poor decisions coming down the stretch going five minutes without a bucket. Lillard had his 2nd career triple double.
