For the third time in the Golden State Warriors’ early stretch of season, one of their games came down to the final seconds. With two game-winners already under their belt, the Warriors had the chance to tie the game with time running down against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday evening.
After a back and forth heavyweight fight to close out their road trip, the Warriors found themselves down two points following a pair of missed free throws from Nikola Jokic. Despite getting a good look at game-tying shot, Steph Curry’s layup didn’t fall through the bucket, sealing the thrilling contest in favor of the defending champion Nuggets.
Klay Thompson had the chance for a late long-distance shot to tie the game as well, but the ball appeared to slip out of his hands before he could hoist up one last heave.
With a loss to the Nuggets without Draymond Green and Gary Payton II, the Warriors’ road trip ended 2-2. Curry lead the Warriors with 23 points on 6-of-17 shooting from the field with six made triples. Curry added five rebounds and four assists.
After Curry and Thompson missed game-tying shots in a loss to the Nuggets, the NBA community on Twitter chimed in with different reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying after the buzzer on Wednesday evening.

Warriors run out of crunch time heroics in Denver, lose by three to close out eight-game, eight-city stretch. Ton to like from their young rotation depth tonight without Draymond/Payton. Warriors are 6-3, heading home for six straight: Cavaliers, Wolves 2x, Thunder 2x, Rockets.

-Refs miss goaltending on Curry layup
-Missed late open 3s (Saric, Wiggins, CP3)
-Had Nuggets reeling but couldn't finish

Most 3PM in the first 9 games of a season:
Stephen Curry – 55 (2018-19)
Stephen Curry – 53 (Now)
Stephen Curry – 46 (2022-23)
CJ Mccollum – 44 (2020-21)
Stephen Curry – 44 (2015-16)— Denver📈 (@doubledworth) November 9, 2023
19 of the Warriors next 26 games are at home. 3 of the 7 road games are still in California, 2 in Phoenix, 1 in Portland and 1 in Denver.
Very favorable travel schedule for 2 whole months. I expect they’ll be dominant over this stretch.
Would love to see at least 17 wins

There are a lot of positives to take away from tonight for the Warriors. I can’t wait to discuss tomorrow at 6 a.m. @MorningRoast957. I can’t be mad at a 6-3 start to the season. Can you?

The Steph no-call foul on the drive and the missed goaltend call on his layup after were not a mistake by the way, refs seen all that shit lol

Controversial no-call on potential goaltending from the Nuggets middle of the fourth qtr 🙃

I get being worried about Andrew Wiggins' offense, but he now has 5 or more rebounds in 4 straight games, a great sign for him
